Bullet Menu Description

Main menu
File Quit Quits Applique.
Edit Cut Selected Item Copies the selected item to the Clipboard, and deletes it.
Copy Selected Item Copies the selected item to the Clipboard.
Paste Item Copies the item from the Clipboard, and appends it.
Delete Selected Item Deletes the selected item.
Append Item Shows the Append Item window for specifying data location, prfix, suffix and text color.

When you click OK, a new item is appended as you specified.
Edit Selected Item Shows the Edit Item window for changing the item settings.

URL:
URL of the target web data.
XPath:
Specifies the HTML element that has the web data.
You can get the XPath with Chromium or Chrome browser as follows.
  1. Open the web page in the browser.
  2. Right-click on the web data, and choose Inspect in the context menu.
    HTML is shown in the right side.
  3. Right-click on the highlighted HTML, and choose Copy > Copy XPath in the context menu.
  4. Paste the copied XPath in the XPath entry.
In case the XPath entry is left blank, Applique tries to get the last modified data/time of the web page.
Prefix:
Text to prepend to the web data.
Suffix:
Text to append to the web data.
Text Color:
Click the Pick Color button to show the Pick Color dialog. Choose color for the text.
Preferences Shows the Preferences window.

Refresh on start:
If checked, Applique executes Refresh on start.
Timeout Interval:
Each connection to the web server is closed after the specified timeout period.
Font:
Shows the Select Font dialog.
View Refresh Gets the most up-to-date web data for each item.
Browse Data Source Page Opens the web page that the selected item gets the data from in the default browser.
Help About This Application Displays information about Applique.

Bullet Download and Install

  1. Click applique_2.3.2_all.deb to download.
  2. Double-click on the downloaded file applique_2.3.2_all.deb.
    Ubuntu Software will start and show applique.
  3. Click on the Install button there.
    Applique will be installed.
