2X Screen Magnifier BaiView Version 2.0

Features

• BaiView has a single window of 2X magnified image of the screen. When starting, BaiView snapshots the screen, 2X magnifies and displays it.
• Because the BaiView window is twice as wide and high as the screen, it is partially shown. You can drag it to see the hidden area. You can also use the mouse wheel to move it left and right and up and down.
• Make a keyboard shortcut to run BaiView.
• BaiView quits on a double-click, a back-button-click, or execution of the Quit menu item.
• BaiView runs on Ubuntu.
• You can use BaiView for free.
• BaiView is wriiten in Python3 with Qt5 toolkit.

Download and Install

1. Click baiview_2.0_all.deb to download.
2. Double-click on the downloaded file baiview_2.0_all.deb.
   Ubuntu Software will start and show baiview.
3. Click on the Install button there.
   BaiView will be installed.

• To uninstall BaiView, run the following command from the terminal.

  sudo apt remove baiview

Before Starting BaiView on Ubuntu18.04

Create a keyboard shortcut to run BaiView:
1. Go to Settings -> Devices -> Keyboard.
2. Scroll to bottom, and click the + button.
   The following window will appear.
   
3. Enter a Name, for example "BaiView", to identify the shortcut.
   Enter the Command "baiview" to run BaiView.
   Click the Set Shortcut... button, and set your preferred shortcut. In my case it is F2 key.
Then the window will look like the following:
   
   Click Add.
   Now the Keyboard settings will look like the following:
   

Usage

• To Magnify the Screen
  • Use the keyboard shortcut. The 2X BaiView window is so positioned that the pointer stays at the same place.
• To Quit BaiView
  • Double-click.
  • Click the mouse back button.
  • Select the Quit menu item shown by a right-click.
• Note:
  • A click on the BaiView window does nothing. It is a kind of photo.
